Senior Emergency Veterinary Nurse

Perth Veterinary Emergency (PVE) Cannington, part of the Animal Emergency Australia (AEA) network, is looking for a skilled and passionate Senior Emergency & Critical Care Veterinary Nurse to join our high-performing team. Responsibilities

Deliver high-quality emergency and critical care nursing to a diverse patient caseload; Monitor and care for complex, hospitalised and critically ill patients; Assist veterinarians with emergency procedures, diagnostics, anaesthesia and advanced treatments; Perform patient triage and support emergency admissions; Provide exceptional care and communication to pet owners during often challenging circumstances; Maintain accurate patient records and uphold high clinical and hospital standards; Support the onboarding and development of new and junior nurses; Provide guidance, coaching and knowledge-sharing during shifts; Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and best-practice nursing care; Assist in maintaining a positive, collaborative and high-performing team culture; Act as a senior clinical resource for colleagues when required

Requirements

Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing (or equivalent); Solid experience in emergency and critical care nursing; Strong clinical skills and confidence managing emergency presentations; Excellent communication and teamwork skills; The ability to remain calm, organised and adaptable in a fast-paced environment; A commitment to delivering outstanding patient and client care; A collaborative approach and positive attitude; Availability to work a rotating roster including evenings, weekends and public holidays as required

Nice to have

A genuine passion for mentoring and supporting less experienced nurses; Experience mentoring or supporting junior team members
