The Senior Laboratory Technician performs tests, experiments, and analyses in a laboratory setting or provides support for laboratory activities. Skilled in multiple laboratory techniques or testing areas.

Education & Experience

Responsibilities

Perform routine laboratory testing or laboratory support per Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's); Calibrate and maintain laboratory instrumentation and equipment; Manage inventory for required operating materials; Ensure strict adherence to all Quality Management System (QMS) requirements; Ensure strict adherence to all Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) Management System requirements; Effectively manage all assigned tasks to ensure completion by established due dates; Provide support for other laboratory areas and complete additional tasks as assigned; Works under the direction of technical leaders

Requirements

Excellent record-keeping and documentation; Strong mathematical and scientific understanding; Strong attention to detail; Technical aptitude for operating scientific testing equipment; Knowledgeable in laboratory safety, chemical handling, scientific concepts, and analytical testing equipment; Proficiency in multiple laboratory techniques and testing areas; Demonstrated expertise in productivity software including Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Slides, Drive) and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook); Skills in implementing process improvements; Strong written and oral communication skills; Problem-solving and analytical skills; Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work well within a team environment; Ability to thrive in a high-volume laboratory testing environment; Associate's degree or equivalent in Chemistry or related scientific field; 3+ years analytical laboratory experience using state-of-art analytical instrumentation or techniques

Nice to have

Developing skills in two or more of the following areas: spectroscopy, mass spectrometry, spectrophotometry, microscopy, electrochemistry, filtrations, extractions, gravimetry, metallography, or chromatography; B.S. or B.A. degree in Chemistry or related scientific field; 5+ years analytical laboratory experience using state-of-art analytical instrumentation or techniques; Experience using a LabWare or similar LIMS; Experience working in an ISO 9001 (or similar) certified organization
