Senior Software Engineer (Ad Cloud Bidding) - Tokyo,Japan

Software engineers (Ad Cloud Bidding) at Appier Tokyo office build a wide range of platforms and services that interconnect data and AI with our customers and users. We are looking for a Senior Backend Engineer with a strong focus on service operations to maintain and optimize our large-scale distributed systems. You will ensure our backend services run reliably and efficiently through automation, monitoring, and incident management.

Responsibilities

Manage system deployment, configuration, and release pipelines; Design and manage automated deployment pipelines to ensure smooth and reliable releases; Implement monitoring, alerting, and disaster recovery strategies; Troubleshoot production incidents and perform root cause analysis; Participate in on-call rotations and lead incident response when required; Continuously evaluate and adopt new tools or technologies to improve operational workflows

Requirements

BS/MS degree in Computer Science or related fields; 3+ years of experience in backend engineering or site reliability engineering; Familiar with Unix/Linux environments; Scripting or programming skills in Python, Go, or Bash; Experience in infrastructure-as-code tools; A proactive mindset toward automation and continuous improvement and strong sense of ownership; Proficiency in Chinese

Nice to have

Experience with cloud infrastructure; Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and observability tools; Knowledge of performance profiling and load testing tools; Exposure to security hardening, access control, or compliance auditing
