Server

The Server engages with residents and guests to provide a memorable dining experience by taking food and beverage orders, retrieving and serving food & beverages according to service standards, courteously and efficiently. This individual collects payments when necessary. This individual assists in the appearance and maintenance of the restaurant area and equipment.

Responsibilities

Provide a high level of customer service at all times; Anticipate resident’s needs, respond promptly and acknowledge all guests, however busy and whatever time of day; Maintain complete knowledge of restaurant(s) operations, proper table set-up and dress code of the restaurant(s); Work closely with the Food & Beverage Director and/or General Manager to keep residents satisfied with food and beverage programs; Set tables in accordance to Coterie standards; Serve residents and guests meals and beverages as requested; Maintain complete knowledge of and strictly abide by state liquor regulations, particularly those prohibiting service to minors, intoxicated persons and drunk driving; Adhere to Quality Enhancement standards and standard food safety practices; Review daily menu with residents; Maintain complete knowledge of Toast and/or POS system as well as manual systems; Take and deliver accurate meal orders to residents and guests; Remove used or soiled plates, utensils, glasses, linen from the dining room as needed; Clean and reset tables immediately after resident and guests depart; Maintain complete knowledge of all menu items, prices (when applicable), preparation method/time, major ingredients and quality standards of taste, appearance, texture, serving temperature, portion size and method of presentation; Assist with preparation and execution of special events, banquets, and theme meals; Adhere to payment, cash handling and credit policies/procedures; Process payments through the POS; When applicable, acquaint new residents with menus, seating, and dining options and hours; Clean and sanitize carpet, tables, chairs, condiment containers, and equipment used in the dining room; Complete side duties as assigned: cleanliness, quality and amount of all restaurant stock and supplies using checklist; fold napkins; Review reservations and accommodate requests and exceed expectations for pre-assigned tables as necessary; Create a strong sense of teamwork and cooperation among all staff; Attend Pre-Meal stand up held for all dining and kitchen staff; May perform other duties as needed and/or assigned

Requirements

Two (2) to three (3) years of experience as a server; Food handling certificate where applicable; Certificate in alcoholic awareness program where applicable; Basic reading, writing, and mathematical skills; Strong communication and teamwork skills; Strong organization and time management skills; Able to resolve problems of dissatisfied customers and/or employees; Minimum of 18 years of age to serve alcoholic beverages and 21 to pour
