Sr. Industrial Mechanical Engineer

RPA Engineering is seeking an experienced Senior Industrial Mechanical Engineer to lead and support projects for metals and industrial manufacturing clients. This role is responsible for developing practical engineering solutions, managing assignments from investigation through design and implementation, coordinating with clients and multidisciplinary project teams, and ensuring deliverables meet established quality, budget, and schedule requirements. The successful candidate will be a self-directed, collaborative professional with strong technical judgment, communication skills, and a commitment to responsive client service.

Responsibilities

Lead and support projects for metals and industrial manufacturing clients; Develop practical engineering solutions; Manage assignments from investigation through design and implementation; Coordinate with clients and multidisciplinary project teams; Ensure deliverables meet established quality, budget, and schedule requirements; Interact with clients, managers, contractors, and colleagues within RPA; Field survey existing mechanical systems and equipment; Work additional hours on projects as required to satisfy client’s deadlines; Work within project budget and schedule requirements

Requirements

BS Mechanical Engineering; 10+ years of experience related to design, specification, fabrication, and purchase of capital equipment for the metals industry; Proficient experience utilizing AutoCAD software; Demonstrated knowledge of current code and standards; Mechanical engineering and design experience in areas such as machine design, hydraulics/pneumatics, dust collection/industrial ventilation, industrial/process piping and supports, combustion; Metals industry experience, including aluminum making processes, steel and titanium making processes, vacuum induction melting (VIM), vacuum arc remelting (VAR), electroslag remelting (ESR)

Nice to have

Engineer in Training (E.I.T.) licensure; Pipe stress calculations and analysis using software tools; Experience using Revit, Plant3D, and Inventor/Solidworks is a plus
