Sr. Project Engineer

CF Industries has many exciting and challenging opportunities at its world class production facility in Yazoo City Mississippi. This Senior Project Engineer will be part of the Plant Engineering team to support the site’s Operations and Maintenance staff. The engineer in this position is responsible for moving assigned projects from concept to successful implementation, within budget and schedule constraints, utilizing in-house and outside resources as necessary, and with appropriate emphasis on EHS and PSM impacts.

Responsibilities

Provides direction and assistance in the preparation of capital estimates, budgets, scope documents and schedule data; Develops assigned projects from concept to implementation, outlining objective and alternate solutions, determining requirements and justification; Leads review and evaluation of various alternates with stakeholders; Ensures all aspects of projects are defined and executed in a legal, safe and environmentally-responsible manner; Provides project management including design, construction, maintenance, detailed design, procurement, contracting, permitting, execution, status reporting and management; Reviews technical specifications and provides technical support to operations and maintenance; Leads procurement efforts and specifies equipment and components; Works with operations and manufacturing personnel to ensure project implementations and start-ups

Requirements

Bachelor of Science in Engineering from ABET accredited university; Hands-on experience in a chemical production unit; Proficient in computer use within a Windows environment and experience using Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook; Good interpersonal skills combined with ability to work as a team player; Strong written and verbal communication skills; Presentation skills sufficient to communicate thoughts succinctly to management

Nice to have

Mechanical or Chemical degrees preferred; Civil, Electrical or Construction Management with applicable experience; Minimum 10 years process engineering experience in chemical process industry desired; Skilled in process modeling, application of unit operations, development of process flow diagrams, piping and instrument diagrams, process equipment specification, and process hazard analysis
