Staff Software Engineer

We’re looking for a full-time Staff Software Engineer to join our Engineering team reporting to the Director, AI Engineering. This role is a hybrid role based out of our Bengaluru, India location. In this role, you'll play a key role in building Atlas, Gainsight's AI Agents platform for Customer Success, by owning agentic product features end-to-end—designing, building, shipping, and iterating to measurably increase customer adoption.

Responsibilities

Approach problems with an agentic mindset; Own features end-to-end: design, build, ship, and iterate with minimal hand-holding; Drive solution approach for projects, proactively flagging risks and trade-offs early and communicating them clearly to stakeholders; Design for scale and reliability from the outset; Partner closely with product, design, and FDEs to shape plans; Bring forward better tools, patterns, or approaches where you see an opportunity to improve how the team builds; Keep documentation lean but sufficient; Occasional travel for team meetings, training, or company events

Requirements

4-7 years of professional software engineering experience; At least 3 years building scale applications using Python and modern JavaScript frameworks (preferably ReactJs); 1-2 years building AI Agents / working with LLMs; Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or equivalent professional experience; Proven experience as a full stack engineer, owning features from initial design through deployment and ongoing maintenance; Strong understanding of best practices for the full software development lifecycle, system design, including coding standards, code reviews, version control, build processes, testing, and operations; Comfortable working with autonomy while thriving in a highly collaborative, cross-functional team environment; Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively with engineers, product managers, and designers
