Steward

Steward position on the kitchen team at American Place Casino in Waukegan, IL. The role involves cleaning dishes, silverware, glassware, pots, pans, and trays, sweeping and mopping kitchen floors, removing trash, and keeping the dish room clean and sanitized while supporting overall kitchen operations in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.

Responsibilities

Provide excellent service to internal and external guests; Scrape and clean dishes, silverware, and glassware by hand or using an automatic dishwasher; Wash pots, pans, and trays; Sweep and mop kitchen floors; Remove all trash from kitchen areas; Ensure the dish room is thoroughly cleaned and sanitized; Perform additional reasonable duties to support kitchen cleanliness and efficiency

Requirements

High School/GED preferred; 3-6 months experience preferred; Carry and balance trays of beverages; Lift up to 25 - 30 lbs; Stand for long periods; Navigate crowded spaces; Flexibility in bending and reaching; Adaptability to casino conditions, including bright lights and noise; Able to obtain/maintain necessary licenses and/or certifications as required by local gaming regulations
