Support Worker

At The Whitehouse, we support up to 7 adults with Learning Disabilities and Autism. We focus on empowering the people we support to develop their skills and to progress along their recovery pathway. The service recognises that each person has different aims and objectives in which they want to achieve, this may range from achieving daily living skills to total independence. The home uses a wide range of tools to ensure successful outcomes. As a Support Worker, you will be involved in the day-to-day support and routine of the people within the service. Experience within the care sector is not needed as we offer full training, coaching and development.

Responsibilities

Day-to-day support and routine of the people we support; Prompting independence whilst helping them live a fulfilling life; Supporting & encouraging the development of personal skills through hobbies and interests; Maintaining and helping with health care needs, including accompanying the people we support to routine appointments or administrating medication; Teaching life skills such as budgeting, paying bills & shopping; Assisting with personal care as required; Assisting with domestic tasks including cleaning & cooking; Providing guidance & encouragement through physical & emotional support

Requirements

Full UK Manual Driving Licence; must be flexible to work day and night shifts
