Surgical Technologist - Hospital OR - Day/Night Rotator

Our Surgical Technologists play a vital role on the perioperative team, collaborating closely with surgeons, nurses, and perioperative assistants to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality patient care. You’ll gain experience in both scheduled procedures and emergent cases through our Level II Trauma Center. Responsibilities

Demonstrates comprehensive knowledge of surgical procedures and instrumentation; Assembles and troubleshoots equipment; Maintains sterile technique; Assists in positioning patients under guidance of RN or surgeon; Conducts accurate sponge, needle, and instrument counts; Performs surgical scrub according to departmental policies; Handles surgical specimens appropriately; Takes full responsibility for scheduled on call hours; Pursues professional growth and development; Functions as role model and preceptor for new staff; Embraces technological solutions; Fosters a Culture of Safety

Requirements

Prior surgical technologist / operating room experience required; Completion of Surgical Technician Program required; Copy of Surgical Technology program certificate required; Must be certified within 12 months of completing a Surgical Technology program; All Surg Techs who did not work prior to 7/1/13 are required to be certified; CST-ERC - Certified Surgical Technologist; BLS - Basic Life Support; ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support; ERT - Emergency Response Training

Nice to have

Certification preferred; Graduation from a formal accredited surgical technician training program preferred; OR experience preferred
