Telehealth Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner - Eating Disorders (PST-Remote)

Equip is the leading virtual, evidence-based eating disorder treatment program on a mission to ensure that everyone with an eating disorder can access treatment that works. The Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner will be responsible for caring for children and adults with eating disorders in a 100% virtual Telehealth platform. Psychiatric Nurse Practitioners (PMHNP) are essential members of Equip's 5-person virtual treatment team, working alongside a therapist, dietitian, peer mentor, and family mentor to help people recover from eating disorders.

Responsibilities

Provide comprehensive psychiatric assessments and ongoing medication management for psychiatrically complex patients with eating disorders and co-occurring psychiatric conditions; Provide comprehensive psychiatric assessments and consultation to outside psychiatric providers for ongoing treatment with this provider; Implement medication treatment plans for individuals with eating disorders and co-occurring conditions in a virtual clinic (i.e. telehealth) setting; Evaluate eating disorder-related medical risk within the psychiatric scope of care, including how ED behaviors may affect psychiatric symptoms, medication decisions, safety, and level of care needs; Collaborate with a multidisciplinary treatment team of medical providers, dietitians, therapists, patient mentors, and family mentors, along with outside providers; Utilize between-session messaging to support patients and communicate with the treatment team through Equip's EMR in accordance with Equip's policies and procedures; Engage and collaborate in treatment team meetings, supervision, learning opportunities, and department meetings; Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

Board Certification as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner; Maintain an active license to practice in the state(s) that their patients reside and/or be willing to become licensed in other states (paid for by Equip); Demonstrate a commitment to providing excellent evidence-based care, advancing clinical skills, and a passion for professional development; Communicate effectively with patients and patients carers, and respond to messages within a timely manner; Be curious, enjoy learning, and participate enthusiastically in a multidisciplinary team; Comfort and experience treating patients with eating disorders, emotion dysregulation, suicidal ideation, substance use, trauma, mood disorders, anxiety disorders, personality disorders, and attention deficit/hyperactivity disorder; Ability to provide direct patient care, including new patients and follow-up sessions; Ability to commit to working until 6 pm two evenings per week (you choose which evenings); Ability to attend mandatory meetings (i.e Group Supervision, Treatment Huddles, Labs/All Hands, Individual Supervision, etc.); Pacific Time Zone Working Hours
