Trim and Grind

As part of the talented Trim and Grind team, you will be responsible for the key placement of drilling the holes for parts assembly and Trim/Grind the molded fiberglass hulls to specifications using templates, jibs and fixtures. You will be using several tools to achieve fit and flow. You will need to read blueprints and schematics. The tools you will be working with include drills, power/air tools, saws, grinders and other tools as necessary.

Responsibilities

Drill holes for parts assembly; Trim and grind molded fiberglass hulls to specifications using templates, jigs and fixtures; Follow daily production of Trim & Grind/Hole Drilling in accordance with the master production schedule and other departments; Operate and maintain tools and equipment such as drills, 4" & 2" Diamond Wheel Grinders, and 2", 5" & 8" grinders; Use a variety of hand and power/air tools, saws, grinders and other tools as necessary; Locate parts by hand or using detail blueprints, standard work, tools, and/or fixtures; Work following specific job instructions, frequently reading and providing verbal and/or written status of part completion; Accurately maintain all Hole Drilling/Trim & Grind records; Perform all Hole Drilling/Trim & Grind operations; Perform housekeeping and maintenance

Requirements

High school diploma or GED required; Ability to work with fellow coworkers in close proximity and in a team environment displaying mutual respect; Ability to read and understand blueprints; Experience using a variety of hand and pneumatic tools; Ability to understand and follow verbal and written directions; Must always follow all safety and quality standards, including chemical handling standards and PPE (Personal Protective Equipment); Requires no facial hair around area where respirator mask fits to face; Required to wear safety glasses and other safety and personal protective equipment on the production/shop floor; Ability to walk or stand for extended periods of time; Ability to regularly bend, stoop, kneel, twist, crouch, reach, climb, and lift or move up to 50 pounds; Vision abilities including close vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception
