Urology APP- Urology- Shelby, NC

Atrium Health is seeking TWO compassionate and motivated Advanced Practice Providers (PA or NP) to join our new urology practice in a welcoming rural community. Work alongside an exceptional staff and with a loyal patient base. Position Highlights include Monday-Friday, no weekends/holidays, no call, outpatient/inpatient/OR, $2,500 annual CME allowance and 5 CME days, annual performance incentive bonus, eligible for overtime, differential pay, and PTO with a competitive benefits package.

Responsibilities

Provide comprehensive care to well and ill patients in outpatient/inpatient setting; Perform history and physical assessments; Order appropriate diagnostic studies and interpret results; Develop, implement, evaluate and alter plan of care; Manage general medical and surgical conditions; Counsel and educate patients and families; Maintain accurate documentation in electronic medical record; Provide patient and family centered care; Facilitate coordinated care and communication among healthcare team; Participate in education of students and other health professionals; Participate in quality initiative/performance activities; Conduct outpatient assessments, establish medical diagnosis, provide medical management, execute standing orders, obtain informed consent, and provide post-operative follow-up; Perform inpatient consultations and rounding, assist in OR, and perform bedside procedures (e.g., cystoscopy, difficulty catheter placement)

Requirements

Strong interpersonal and communication skills; Licensed Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner with 1+ urology or surgical experience (new grads with strong clinical backgrounds considered); Graduation from an accredited NP or PA program; Current license to practice as NP or PA in North Carolina; Current prescriptive privileges and DEA license; BLS for healthcare provider from AHA; Nurse practitioners must have a master's degree or doctorate in nursing practice; Acute Care NP certification required for inpatient nurse practitioners; Family and Adult NP certifications accepted for outpatient only positions; Certification from a nationally recognized certifying body; Credentialing and professional privileges required

Nice to have

Desire to work in a close-knit, community-oriented setting; Physician Assistant certification from the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (preferred)
