Welding/ Steel Special Inspector

SOCOTEC has immediate opportunities for experienced Special Inspectors to be part of our team. Usual schedule is 7am-3:30pm. Locations: Eastern Pennsylvania (near Mechanicsburg Office).

Responsibilities

Complete assigned inspections as scheduled by dispatch; Perform scheduled inspections during the assigned time, inspecting, reviewing, and submitting reports according to code and approved drawings; Prepare and electronically submit daily reports; Perform all other duties as assigned by supervisor or manager

Requirements

Hold certifications from ICC, AWS, and/or NDT (ideal candidates), including ICC Structural Steel & Bolting Special Inspector, NDT Inspector, or AWS Certified Welding Inspector (CWI); Familiarity with the Pennsylvania Building Code; Ability to read prints and find inspection locations; Ability to produce inspection reports according to company standards; Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook; Reliable means of transportation; Extensive knowledge of industry standards; Punctual, reliable, with good attention to detail; Ability to work various shifts; Ability to travel to numerous job sites daily; Highly motivated team player with a strong work ethic; Ability to communicate effectively with a variety of project managers; Organized and efficient; Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds; Authorized to work in the U.S. with a valid driver license

Nice to have

Technical, Associate's, or Bachelor's Degree in an engineering field (Civil, Mechanical, Environmental, etc.)
