Dispatcher

The Arizona Humane Society is looking for a full time Dispatcher to join our dedicated Field team at our South Mountain Campus on Fridays – Mondays, 8 AM – 6 PM. As a Dispatcher you will be responsible for quickly and efficiently responding to incoming telephone calls in a compassionate, empathetic and professional manner in order to provide a consistent, positive and excellent experience every time. You will dispatch animal ambulance, rescue, and investigation calls. Assign calls to officers while monitoring their location and safety. Answer inquiries and provide information to callers, refer callers to appropriate alternative agencies.

Responsibilities

Quickly and efficiently responding to incoming telephone calls in a compassionate, empathetic and professional manner; Dispatching animal ambulance, rescue, and investigation calls; Assigning calls to officers while monitoring their location and safety; Answering inquiries and providing information to callers; Referring callers to appropriate alternative agencies; Receiving and logging ambulance, rescue, and investigation calls from the public and other agencies; Recording and inputting calls into the computer system; Providing outstanding customer service to external and internal customers; Maintaining a positive and professional attitude despite high stress and emotional calls; Acknowledging and responding to all two-way radio transmissions; Facilitating the return of seized animals to their owners when appropriate.

Requirements

High school diploma OR GED; Must possess excellent public relations and customer service skills; Must be 21 years old; Knowledge of map reading and directions.

Nice to have

Dispatch or call center experience preferred.
