KIPP Indy Public Schools (KIPP Indy) was founded in 2004 with one class of fifth-grade students and has grown to serve 1,500 students across three schools. Of the students that attend KIPP Indy, 93% qualify for free and reduced lunch, 95% are African American or LatinX, 12% receive special education services, and 8% are designated as Emerging Bilinguals. POSITION OVERVIEW

KIPP Indy Unite Elementary is seeking an enrichment teacher to provide high-quality instruction in the arts, physical education, SEL, etc.

Teachers at KIPP Indy Unite Elementary are responsible for delivering effective, high-quality, rigorous instruction in their classroom that produces strong results and student understanding. Teachers will use data to inform their instruction and do whatever it takes for all students to learn. Teachers at KIPP Indy Unite are committed to leading and teaching through an student-centered and culturally responsive lens, will work to make their classrooms safe, joyful environments, and build relationships with their students to ensure every student can be successful.

EXPECTATIONS

- Arrive at school by 8:10 a.m.
- Attend professional development, including summer onboarding.
- Track and analyze student data regularly and attend team meetings.
- Fulfill all expectations outlined in the KIPP Employee Handbook.

Responsibilities

Design and deliver engaging, rigorous, standards-aligned enrichment instruction for students in grades K–5 within the assigned content area.; Develop age-appropriate lessons that build students’ content knowledge, skills, creativity, critical thinking, and confidence while fostering enthusiasm for the enrichment subject.; Differentiate instruction and provide appropriate supports and extensions to ensure students with varying learning needs can successfully engage in rigorous learning.; Establish clear learning objectives and use checks for understanding, student work, assessments, and other available data to monitor progress and adjust instruction.; Create a safe, joyful, structured learning environment with clear routines and high expectations for student engagement, behavior, and participation.; Implement effective classroom management practices and consistently reinforce school-wide expectations across grade levels.; Build strong relationships with students and families and communicate proactively regarding student progress, successes, and areas for growth.; Collaborate with grade-level teachers, instructional leaders, and other enrichment staff to support student learning and contribute to a cohesive K–5 instructional program.; Maintain organized instructional materials, equipment, supplies, and learning spaces appropriate to the assigned enrichment content area.; Participate in school-wide events, performances, exhibitions, showcases, competitions, or other opportunities connected to the enrichment program, as applicable.; Participate actively in ongoing coaching, classroom observations, feedback cycles, collaborative planning, team learning, and required professional development, consistently implement feedback and agreed-upon action steps to strengthen instructional practice and student outcomes.

High expectations for student achievement, regardless of age or background.; Able to create an inclusive, supportive classroom environment.; Strong collaboration and communication skills, especially in building relationships with families and colleagues.; Demonstrates reliability, sound judgment, integrity, preparedness, and follow-through while meeting school and network expectations.; Actively engages in coaching, seeks and incorporates feedback, reflects on practice, and applies learning from professional development to improve student outcomes.; Valid Indiana teaching license or applying for reciprocity with a valid out-of-state license (required).; Bachelor’s degree in elementary education or a related field (preferred) .; Minimum of 2 years of teaching experience (preferred).; Strong understanding of foundational literacy and child development (required).; Proven record of fostering academic success in diverse, underserved communities (preferred).; Experience in using data to guide instruction and improve student outcomes (preferred).; Unwavering commitment to KIPP Indy’s mission and vision (required).; Pass a criminal background check, as required by law (required).
