Accountant

Rilla is on a mission to index the offline world. We're hiring a Contract Accountant to join Rilla's Finance team. As a member of the finance and operations team you will own core accounting processes, drive financial close, and build the internal controls and reporting infrastructure we need to scale. This is a broad, hands-on role — you won't just maintain the books, you'll shape how we do finance as a company.

Responsibilities

Assist with month-end, quarter-end, and annual close — journal entries, reconciliations, and supporting schedules; Manage revenue recognition in accordance with GAAP, including subscription and multi-period arrangements; Oversee AP, accruals, prepaid expenses, and fixed assets; Assist with financial statements and internal management reports; Support annual audits, tax filings, and coordination with external auditors and advisors; Drive finance system implementations and workflow automation; Assist with cash flow management and forecasting; Maintain and strengthen accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls; Partner with operations, finance, and leadership on budgeting, forecasting, and ad hoc analyses; Support benefits administration as the team grows; Identify and implement process improvements that increase efficiency and help us scale

Requirements

2+ years of experience at an accounting firm, ideally with SaaS clients; Strong working knowledge of GAAP accounting practices; Hands-on experience with QuickBooks and NetSuite; Advanced spreadsheet and financial modeling skills; CPA certification and a degree in Accounting or Finance; Entrepreneurial spirit and willingness to roll up sleeves and work hands-on in a fast-paced, dynamic environment; A customer obsessive; An infinite learner; A team player; Unafraid of failure; Affinity for the unconventional; Extremely focused
