Ambulatory Tech 1 - GI/Hepatology Clinic

Under general direction from Nursing Leadership, assists providers during exams. Performs a variety of clinical tasks in support of patient care in out-patient clinics including a variety of technical, procedural and information systems tasks involving patient care functions affecting the comfort, care and safety of patients.

Responsibilities

Assists providers during exams; Performs clinical tasks in support of patient care in outpatient clinics; Attaches patients to diagnostic and medical equipment; Provides information, comfort and care to patients during exams; Ensures supplies and equipment are available; Escorts patients, obtains vital signs, performs diagnostic testing and specimen collection; Enters patient data into electronic medical record; Performs administrative duties; Maintains clinical equipment and medical supply levels; Implements infection prevention measures; Precepts new employees with RN oversight; May assist providers as a surgical procedure assistant

Requirements

High School diploma or equivalent; 1 year experience in customer focused/service setting; equivalent combination of education and experience

Nice to have

Associate's degree; Knowledge of medical terminology, procedures and computer experience
