Application Engineer

The Application Engineer serves as the technical expert and a part of our customer-facing engineering team. The Application Engineer provides pre- and post-sales support to customers. In this role the Application Engineer performs product demonstrations, training, troubleshooting, and application support. The Application Engineer is the key interface between the factory, customer, and sales to bridge the gap between technical knowledge and customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities

Field sales calls with the purpose of demonstrating new products, providing technical expertise, and developing a solution that can be provided by the company or a key manufacturer for the customer; Collaborate with the sales team and customers to understand application requirements and recommend suitable solutions; Gather technical information that is used in the discovery process for developing a solution; Sizing and specification for component sales; Develops Scope of Work for potential projects, using the discovery information; New product training and training for existing product lines, including attending trainings to continually improve and providing training for customers; Support customers through email, phone, and/or onsite support for Heitek’s various product lines

Requirements

Strong presentation, communication, and interpersonal skills; Problem-solving mindset with technical troubleshooting abilities; Ability to work independently and travel as needed; Ability to learn new products and software; Associate’s/bachelor’s degree in an Engineering or a related technical field, or equivalent work experience; 1-5+ years of experience in an engineering, technical support, field service or application role

Industry-specific experience (e.g., systems integration, application engineering, controls engineering) preferred
