Assistant General Manager, Clockwork & Library Bar

Responsible for the ongoing day-to-day front-of-house operations of the venue. The Assistant General Manager works under the direction of the General Manager and provides leadership and oversight of front-of-house operations in their absence. The Assistant General Manager is responsible for ensuring exceptional guest service, operational efficiency, colleague engagement, food safety compliance, financial performance and adherence to company standards and policies.

Responsibilities

Oversee ongoing day-to-day front-of-house operations of the venue; Provide leadership and oversight of front-of-house operations in the absence of the General Manager; Ensure exceptional guest service and high guest satisfaction; Instill and drive a culture of service and hospitality; Engage the team to deliver the highest level of service; Ensure regular effective training and coach and hold team members accountable; Drive revenue by maximizing seatings and meal periods, monitoring seating times and booking trends; Put in place a relevant upselling program and monitor average checks; Participate in deciding menu items and pricing; Hold overall financial responsibility for the restaurant including scheduling, inventory control and effective use of the POS; Liaise with the Marketing team on social media and online feedback; Participate in long-term strategic planning for both venues; Ensure OS&E inventory control and that the restaurant is always fully stocked; Ensure employee effectiveness, morale and employee relations; Ensure teams are set up for success and both venues are well recognized; Keep up with and implement food and beverage trends; Work with other food and beverage leaders within the hotel

Requirements

Minimum of 2 years' experience in hospitality management; Ability to lead by example, believe in a strong team culture and set the scene for high performance; Strong command of food and beverage product knowledge and trends; Computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook; Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; Fluent in English; General accounting principles and policies; Smart Serve Certification; Constant standing and walking throughout shift; Frequent lifting and carrying up to 30 lbs; Constant kneeling, pushing, pulling, lifting; Frequent ascending or descending ladders, stairs and ramps

Nice to have

Degree in Hotel and Restaurant Management; Previous working experience in a unionized environment; Second language
