Autism Personal Assistant for a Young Person

Direct Payment Personal Assistant Required. I am looking to recruit a direct payment personal assistant for my 8-year-old son. Hours wanted: 3 hours per week; specific timings to be discussed. This individual is a lovely boy with an inquisitive personality. He has a lot of energy and an infectious giggle. He has a diagnosis of autism and presents with a developmental delay across all areas. He also has social and communication difficulties. Because of his language difficulties, he needs someone who can understand children with limited verbal communication. While he can communicate verbally, he may not always say what he means so relies on trusted adults to interpret his meaning.

Responsibilities

Personal Care; Social + Leisure activities; Transportation; Understanding and interpreting the young person's communication

Requirements

Experience working with children with disabilities; Experience working with children with limited verbal communication; Full UK driving license; Own personal car

Nice to have

Able to travel to Clevedon
