Bedford Park- Rail Switching Technician

In this role, you'll work as part of a team to move, organize, and secure railcars, supporting customer operations and ensuring every move is performed with precision and care. Responsibilities

Review track lists to identify railcars for spotting, separation, loading, or outbound movement; Safely connect, secure, and position railcars by setting brakes and verifying proper couplings; Separate loaded, empty, and pre-loaded cars to support efficient yard flow; Verify weights of inbound and outbound railcars to ensure compliance; Operate switches, derails, and trackside equipment to support safe rail movements; Communicate with crew members using radio, hand signals, and visual indicators; Perform additional tasks as needed to support safe, reliable, and efficient rail operations

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent; Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions; Ability to lift, carry, and handle equipment (up to ~50 lbs); Ability to climb on and off railcars, ladders, and platforms; Ability to wear required PPE without restriction; Must be at least 18 years old and legally authorized to work in the U.S.; Ability to pass a drug screen, physical, and background check; Reliable transportation and strong attendance
