Cardiovascular Laboratory Technician-PRN

Responsibilities

Plans, provides, and documents services for Cardiovascular Lab patients according to physician orders and established policies/procedures; Operates, monitors, records, evaluates, and maintains patient information; Meets challenges of case volumes and patient care issues to ensure optimal care and outcomes; Ensures quality and accuracy of reported data, reports variances and critical findings to physician; Operates, inspects, troubleshoots and performs routine maintenance for lab equipment; Performs daily room QCs and prepares lab room/equipment for procedures; Documents, retrieves and verifies data necessary for patient records; Participates in own professional development and supports development of other staff; Participates in clinical/operational performance improvement activities; Adheres to unit and Navicent Health policies, procedures, regulatory standards, and patient safety goals

Requirements

Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS) through Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI), or the ability to sit for certification within 90 days of hire; High School Diploma or GED; Two years or more experience as a Cardiovascular Specialist; Must be able to lift 25-60 lbs and carry 25-50 pounds; Must be able to tolerate high noise, busy atmospheres and noxious odors; Must be able to remain calm under stressful situations
