Certified Medication Aide - Assisted Living (AL)/Part Time & Full Time/SEE BELOW!

In this role you will be responsible for the safe administration of all prescribed medications and treatments as listed on the Medication Administration Record (MAR) and Treatment Administration Record (TAR), provides personal are and general nursing care to residents as needed or assigned, ensures delivery of care and services to all residents in the community to include Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), room cleanliness, scheduled activities and dining services and individual service plan need of each assigned resident. Shifts: All Shifts; 8 hours & 12 hours. Open Interviews: Mondays-Fridays; 10AM-2PM.

Responsibilities

Safe administration of all prescribed medications and treatments as listed on the Medication Administration Record (MAR) and Treatment Administration Record (TAR); Provide personal care and general nursing care to residents as needed or assigned; Ensure delivery of care and services to all residents, including Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), room cleanliness, scheduled activities and dining services, and individual service plan needs; Supervise self-administered medication for the Assisted Living Department in compliance with Federal & State regulations and Senior Lifestyle Corporation guidelines; Count and sign for all narcotics with approved personnel before accepting medication keys; Order medications and treatments from the appropriate pharmacy or notify responsible party when supply is no less than 7 days; Notify supervisor when supply is less than 2 days and medicine has not been received; Receive and verify all medicine against pharmacy label and MAR; Store medications properly, keeping lotions, ointments and liquids separate from oral medications; Date vials or bottles at initial opening and follow pharmacy protocol; Conduct weekly inspections to remove expired medications; Compare current MARs to new MARs at change over and notify supervisor of discrepancies; Remove discontinued medication from med cart and give it to the supervisor; Provide personal care including bathing, skin care, oral hygiene, grooming, dressing, incontinence care, and eating assistance; Provide general nursing care including vital signs, temperatures, blood pressure, and weights; Document information in the daily log and notify supervisor of concerns; Answer calls and assist residents with needs as assigned; Clean medicine carts daily at end of shift and restock as needed; Perform weekly deep cleaning of all med carts; Attend and participate in staff training and in-services; Maintain accurate records, including preparation of medical charts for new admissions and readmissions, ensuring records are complete within forty-eight (48) hours per Policy and Procedure (P&P) and regulatory guidelines

Requirements

High School Diploma or General Education Degree, or one to three months related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience; 1+ months of experience; Current Medication Technician certification depending on state regulations; Acceptable proficiency in English to perform job duties; Basic computer proficiency to include Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook; Excellent interpersonal and communications skills; Superior time management skills; Strong team player with a passion for helping seniors
