Chemist – HVGC Lab

Chemist position at Eurofins in Winston-Salem, NC, performing routine sample preparation and analyses, quality control, equipment maintenance, SOP and documentation work, and training of junior staff. Monday–Friday, 8:00am–5:00pm, with overtime and weekend work as business needs require.

Responsibilities

Applies GMP/GLP and 17025 compliance standards in all areas of responsibility; Performs routine sample preparation and analyses for product assessment and quality control using techniques such as HPLC, GC, ICP, mass spectrometry, smoking machines, and wet chemistry and physical techniques; Operates and maintains job-related equipment and performs basic troubleshooting; Performs verification, calibration, and maintenance tasks (e.g., balance calibration and pipet verifications); Follows SOPs, WI and Good Documentation Practices, and drafts, edits and updates SOPs, WI and other documentation; Evaluates, reviews, and approves data by other analysts; Provides instruction/training to junior level staff; Provides analyses support for method validation; Recognizes errors, identifies root causes, and applies process improvements; Communicates effectively with client staff members; Performs other duties as assigned

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Biology, or other related degree concentration, or equivalent directly-related experience (two years of directly related industry experience is equivalent to one full-time year of college in related major); 2 – 4 years of related experience
