Civil Engineer Intern

A Civil Engineer Intern with Houston Engineering Inc. (HEI) will spend time in the field working on outdoor construction phase activities and possibly a variety of in-office projects assisting engineers.

As an intern, responsibilities may include some or all of the following

We strive to provide a personalized internship based on your area of interest. This may include learning how to do roadway design, geometric layout, drainage analysis, erosion control, and construction engineering.

Responsibilities

Operate electronic survey instruments such as GPS and Total Station.; Observation and data collection at different types of project sites.; Assist with research, development and design of projects.

Requirements

Enrolled or enrolling in a Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Agricultural and Biological Systems Engineering, Bioproducts and Biosystem Engineering, or related Engineering program.; Completed coursework in general surveying and AutoCAD are preferred.; Able to work extended periods of time in outdoor conditions.; Above average math and communication skills.; Valid driver’s license and availability for overnight travel.
