Commissioning Engineer

NSG Environmental Ltd has been delivering work programmes in the nuclear industry for over 40 years. The role has responsibility for the commissioning activities associated with the delivery of the project for the assigned site, ensuring the delivery of the project in full compliance with the pre-determined standards of safety, quality, environmental and security and the conditions of contract.

Responsibilities

Responsibility for commissioning activities associated with project delivery; ensure delivery in compliance with safety, quality, environmental, security standards and contract conditions; input to commissioning strategy and high-level control documentation; prepare documentation including control plans, setting to work documents, site acceptance documents, inactive commissioning documents, method statements, risk assessments and LTQR; liaise with sub-contractors and suppliers on control plans, FAT, StW, SAT and LTQR documents; attend FATs ensuring supplier testing per agreed test plan; ensure supplier equipment installed as per installation documentation and inspected before acceptance to Setting to Work; witness Setting to Work and ensure documented procedure followed and signed off; liaise with client site commissioning manager; manage project engineers and technicians in support of StW, SAT and inactive commissioning; report plant and equipment issues to NSG site Project Manager; promote effective communication and working between disciplines; ensure personal/professional/technical/engineering competency through CPD

Requirements

DV Security Level Clearance; willing to travel and work away from home nationwide; well organised with ability to work to timescales and demonstrate attention to detail; routine recording and reporting of information both verbal and numerical; commissioning experience on a nuclear licenced site; supplier witness testing; experience of developing test documentation; competent user of MS Office; able to organise and prioritise own work

Nice to have

Engineering degree; Higher National Certificate in Engineering; Nuclear Triple Bar; membership of appropriate technical/professional body; IOSH Managing Safely or Level 2 Health & Safety in the Workplace or equivalent; control panel design experience; general knowledge of mechanical and process engineering disciplines; fault finding; onsite supplier management; used to dealing with confidential and commercial information; familiar with integrated management system operating procedures and requirements; ability to communicate with a wide range of colleagues at all levels and with external stakeholders and contractors; knowledge of ISO 9001 / 14001 & 45001
