Construction Manager Team Leader

Beta Engineering engineers, procures, and constructs (EPC) projects for customers in utility, industrial, and renewable energy markets, including substations and transmission lines. The Construction Manager Team Leader (CMTL) supervises Construction Managers and oversees a portfolio of project sites as assigned throughout the US. CMTL is tasked with the total construction effort of their portfolio in accordance with safety, design and schedule set by Beta Engineering standards and customer contract. The CMTLs are responsible for training, recruiting, scheduling, retaining, assigning and management of CMs under their supervision.

Responsibilities

Directly supervises assigned Construction Managers; Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with policies and applicable laws; Regularly reports to Manager of Construction Management and assists with planning of assigned work; Oversees portfolio of projects to ensure safe execution, quality installation, on-time performance within budget; Leads and mentors CMs to improve individual and team performance; Ensures CMs are trained in Beta’s Safety Program, OSHA regulations, QA/QC, and certifications; Supports CMs with subcontractor safety issues, on-site safety audits, budget updates, scheduling, procurement, and reporting; Provides temporary CM duties during rotation trips or when no CM is available; Provides input on organizational structure, employee performance, development, and disciplinary actions; Performs additional duties as assigned

Requirements

Travel requirement roughly 90% of the time with 10% remote office support; Work to be completed in the field; Experience using Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Adobe Acrobat, and Microsoft Project; Proficiency in reading plans or drawings is required; Able to lift 50 pounds; Clean driving record to operate company vehicles; Successful Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) is required; Performs quality work within deadlines with limited direct supervision; Works independently and professionally

Nice to have

Preferred five or more years’ experience as a high voltage substation construction supervisor or foreman and/or high voltage/industrial overhead electrical line supervisor or foreman; Strong electrical power background may be considered in lieu of high voltage experience; PMP certification is preferred
