Construction Project Accountant

A leading single-source electrical contractor with over 50 years of experience is seeking a Project Accountant to join its growing team in Edison, New Jersey. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented professional with a strong background in construction accounting who is looking to take on a key role within a supportive and established team. This company is a subsidiary of a Fortune 500 leader in mechanical and electrical construction, offering the stability and resources of a large corporation while maintaining a close-knit, collaborative work environment. You will be part of a team of three other accountants in their office, working directly with project managers and upper management to ensure the financial success of projects.

Responsibilities

Administering and preparing monthly requisitions and payment applications; Managing invoices, change orders, and collections with clients and customers; Producing cash management and forecast reports for senior leadership; Analyzing job costs and project profit/loss; Reviewing and preparing essential documents, such as certified payroll, insurance, and tax certificates; Collaborating with project managers on billing, change orders, and project closeouts

Requirements

3+ years of project accounting experience within the construction industry
