Controller - Manufacturing

We're seeking a Controller for our Manufacturing practice who leads the quality of client work, develops the Accountants alongside them, and serves as a trusted financial advisor to small and mid-sized manufacturers. You are client-facing and advisory. In manufacturing, financial clarity directly impacts product margins, capacity decisions, and long-term competitiveness, and your clients count on you to deliver that clarity.

Responsibilities

Lead month-end closing processes and financial review meetings with manufacturing clients; Oversee cost accounting systems including standard cost maintenance, overhead rate updates, and variance analysis; Lead the work quality and mentorship of Accountants on your delivery team; Oversee inventory management and valuation processes across all product categories; Analyze product-line profitability and communicate margin improvement opportunities to clients and the CFO; Prepare cash flow forecasting and capital expenditure planning recommendations in support of CFO client leadership; Serve as liaison with clients' CPAs, banking partners, and insurance providers; Oversee payroll processes including union compliance where applicable; Implement and maintain robust internal controls across client accounts; Utilize current processes and tools, including code red alerts, to proactively identify and prevent fraud throughout all client accounting processes; Meet or exceed billable hours goals while maintaining service excellence; Complete all internal responsibilities including time tracking, capacity planning, and quarterly initiatives; Actively participate in All In One Accounting's Brand Ambassador program, representing our mission and values; Uphold security practices to protect client assets effectively

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or business administration; Experience in a multi-client or Client Accounting Services (CAS) environment strongly preferred; 7+ years of progressive manufacturing accounting experience including team leadership; Deep expertise in cost accounting, inventory management, and manufacturing financial reporting; Proven success in client-facing advisory roles in a multi-client manufacturing environment; Strong ability to develop and guide Accountants without a formal reporting relationship; Excellence in financial analysis and communication with manufacturing owners and operators; Advanced technical skills with manufacturing or ERP accounting platforms
