Cook II - Shift Work

The Cook II is at the fully competent level and is responsible for independently cooking a variety of entrees and other principal meal items; may be responsible for a cooking station in a kitchen having several cooking stations and serving a large number of meals, or may be the cook in a small kitchen and may supervise kitchen and cook helpers; and performs other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

Must be willing and able to work rotating shifts, including evenings, weekends and holidays; Must be a citizen, national, or permanent resident alien of the United States, or eligible under federal law for unrestricted employment in the United States; Two (2) years of progressively responsible experience which demonstrated knowledge and skill to perform general quantity cooking duties; Experience must have demonstrated knowledge of and ability to independently prepare various types of foods using various cooking methods; Some positions require possession of a valid driver's license at the time of appointment; Subject to drug screening as required by Federal, State or local laws or departmental policy; Subject to an intensive background check; Must meet Prison Rape Elimination Act (PREA) requirements
