Criminal Paralegal

A specialist criminal defence practice is seeking a Criminal Paralegal to join its North London office. This Criminal Paralegal role offers exposure to a broad range of criminal defence matters, including serious crime, Crown Court cases and complex investigations. The Criminal Paralegal will work closely with experienced solicitors and advocates, gaining hands-on experience across all stages of the criminal process. Responsibilities

Assisting with Magistrates’ Court and Crown Court matters; Conducting legal research and preparing case summaries; Reviewing evidence, disclosure and witness statements; Drafting legal correspondence, applications and attendance notes; Liaising with clients, counsel, courts, police stations and prisons; Attending hearings, conferences and client meetings; Supporting trial preparation and case strategy

Requirements

LPC or SQE qualification; At least two years’ criminal law experience; Strong legal research and analytical skills; Excellent written and verbal communication skills; Strong organisational and time management ability; Ability to work under pressure and manage competing deadlines; Committed to developing a career within criminal defence
