Deli Manager

Deli Manager position at Weis Markets, location 273 in Millville, DE. The Deli Manager manages department inventories, schedules and supervises Deli and Food Service associates, oversees customer relations, food preparation, merchandising, and department sanitation and safety.

Responsibilities

Promotes excellent customer relations and resolves customer issues; Takes customer orders over the phone or in person; Manages department inventories, tracks weekly sales reports, orders products and supplies; Schedules Deli and Food Service associates, oversees training, and delegates work assignments; Participates in associate annual performance reviews and new hire interviews; Develops and implements merchandising plans and monitors competitor activity; Prepares and tracks inventory and gross monthly profit records; Checks and verifies department deliveries and invoices; Controls Deli and Food Service expenses and labor costs; Ensures food safety, freshness, and proper product rotation; Ensures merchandise in display cases is fresh, priced, and properly signed; Operates slicing equipment and prepares ready-to-eat foods and platters; Adheres to company recipes and safety policies when preparing food; May operate cash register and follow cash handling and tobacco/alcohol sales policies; Maintains backroom security, 5S organization, sanitation, and health and OSHA standards; Uses company-provided Personal Protective Equipment (PPE); Supervises associates within the department and may assume total leadership of the building in absence of store management; May assist in other departments

Requirements

High School Diploma or general education degree (GED) required; Minimum 3 years' experience in management in retail/restaurant/supermarket environment; Ability to perform each essential duty satisfactorily with or without an accommodation
