Dir, EHR Revenue Cycle Applications

Guided by core principles of patient safety, data security and operational excellence, partners with clinical, revenue-cycle and finance stakeholders to align technology solutions with end-to-end business processes. Oversees execution of strategic plans across application teams to empower healthcare, education and research partners with digital tools that drive efficiencies, maximize reimbursement, create value and strengthen competitive advantage.

Responsibilities

Directs and supervises staff and resources to ensure efficient and effective clinical and revenue-cycle operations; Leads a cross-functional team responsible for the development, implementation and maintenance of revenue-cycle modules fully integrated with eRecord (Epic) EHR; Ensures system functionality enables accurate charge capture, coding compliance and charge-master management; Streamlines claims generation, electronic remittance processing and payer interfacing; Facilitates timely accounts receivable follow-up, denials management and appeals tracking; Delivers real-time revenue integrity dashboards, financial reporting and analytics to identify under-payments or trend spikes; Acts as accountable leader for designated Revenue Cycle application teams; Oversees Resolute Hospital Billing, Resolute Professional Billing and Charging team; Responsible for leading the Revenue Cycle Advisory Council in IT Governance; IT partner for Billing Directors and CFO's; Manages a team supporting technology operations and projects across URochester Medicine, including affiliates; Leads career development, coaching and mentoring for team; Manages one or more elements of an operating or capital program budget; Other duties as assigned

Requirements

Bachelor's degree and 10 years of related experience; Or equivalent combination of education and experience; Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to create clear, concise and prompt communications; Strong follow-through skills with ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously; Exhibits managerial courage. Willing to take calculated risks and to speak up for the best interests of the team; EPIC - EPIC Certification upon hire

Nice to have

3 years of experience with Epic application; Experience in an academic medical center or health-system; Ability to communicate effectively at all levels of the organization including with executives, physicians, and nurses, with the ability to discuss technical information in a meaningful way with persons of varying levels of expertise; Ability to demonstrate objectivity, sensitivity, and a balanced perspective regarding employee concerns and organizational issues
