Director of Sales

The Director of Sales is responsible for leading the hotel’s sales strategy to maximize room revenue, drive market share, and cultivate long-term client relationships. This executive-level role oversees the sales team and collaborates with revenue management, marketing, and operations to ensure alignment with the hotel’s financial goals and brand standards. The Director of Sales plays a critical role in positioning the property competitively within its market and securing business across group, corporate, leisure, and catering segments.

Responsibilities

Develop and execute comprehensive sales plans to achieve revenue targets and grow market share; Lead, mentor, and manage the sales team to ensure high performance and professional development; Identify and pursue new business opportunities across group, corporate, and leisure segments; Build strategic partnerships with travel agencies, corporate accounts, meeting planners, and local organizations; Oversee key account management, contract negotiations, and high-value proposals; Collaborate with revenue management to optimize pricing strategies and forecast demand; Partner with marketing to align promotional efforts with sales initiatives; Represent the hotel at industry events, trade shows, and networking functions; Analyze market trends, competitive data, and performance metrics to inform strategy and reporting

Requirements

5+ years of progressive sales leadership experience in the hospitality industry; Proven track record of achieving revenue goals and managing high-performing teams; Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills; Strong financial acumen and analytical ability with experience in revenue forecasting and budgeting

Bachelor's degree in hospitality, Business, or related field preferred; advanced degree a plus
