Electrical/Industrial Maintenance Technician - Tier 4

Provides maintenance support to all departments and ensures that all machinery and equipment are in safe working order within the facility. Must have and demonstrate advanced knowledge of both electrical and mechanical troubleshooting. Must understand industrial control systems, pneumatic and hydraulic control systems, PLC systems, and plant utilities. Must demonstrate sound problem-solving skills along with the ability to lead and train lower tiered maintenance technicians. Must be a self-starter. Consistently and safely perform electrical and mechanical repairs without supervision. Ability to lead and communicate with department management on maintenance issues and coordinate/negotiate needed downtime.

Responsibilities

Provides maintenance support to all departments and ensures that all machinery and equipment are in safe working order within the facility; Performs daily machine inspections and corrective actions; Communicates issues to affected departments and processes; Troubleshoots, maintains and upgrades processes and equipment; Prepares ahead for repairs to reduce machine downtime; Manages projects, multitasks, and leads techs as needed; Serves as backup to the Group Leader as needed; Trains maintenance techs at all levels; Uses maintenance management systems (CMMS) to track daily activities, close workorders, track time, and document preventative maintenance activities; Works closely with other technicians and independently in all areas of the plant; Performs maintenance and troubleshooting following LOTO procedures; Determines parts to be replaced or repaired and works with Group Leader or Maintenance Manager to order replacement parts; Participates in team meetings to discuss strategies for maintaining machinery; Maintains good housekeeping and follows 5S system; Wears proper PPE and follows all personal protective standards

Requirements

At least 7-10 years’ experience in industrial maintenance or a technical degree combined with at least 7 years of experience in an industrial maintenance setting; Specialization in Electrical Technology; LOTO (Lockout/Tagout) training; Arc Flash training; Previous Forklift and Fall Protection training; Advanced knowledge of electrical and mechanical troubleshooting; Understanding of industrial control systems, pneumatic and hydraulic control systems, PLC systems, and plant utilities; Sound problem-solving skills; Ability to lead and train lower tiered maintenance technicians; Self-starter; Ability to perform electrical and mechanical repairs without supervision; Must have hand tools, approved multimeter, and toolbox; Proficient in troubleshooting, maintaining and upgrading processes and equipment; Ability to manage projects and multitask and lead techs as needed; Proficient in maintenance management systems (CMMS); Knowledge of plantwide assets: Robotics, PLCs, injection & blow molding equipment, assembly line, testers, and support equipment; Strong troubleshooting of equipment and processes in industrial electrical, hydraulics, and pneumatic controls; Proficient in PLC hardware and software; Proficient in installing, programing, AC & DC drives, servos, and heating controls; Able to troubleshoot and manually operate multi-axis robotic systems; Ability to prioritize equipment issues and resolve problems effectively and efficiently; Strong communication skills, professionalism, and effective time management; Adherence to established safety protocols and best practices; Expertise in electrical and automation; CMM experience; PLC Troubleshooting - Ladder Logic; Robotics, sensors, VFDs, photo eyes
