Engineering Manager II

Payment Success helps merchants get paid and keep their cash flow reliable. We predict which payments are likely to fail, recover the money when they do, and protect merchant cash flow across our payment rails. As Engineering Manager, you will lead a cross-functional team of engineers, a designer and data scientists, building intelligent products that use machine learning and AI. Base salary range: €70,400 - €105,600.

Responsibilities

Lead a cross-functional team of engineers, a designer and data scientists, building intelligent products that use machine learning and AI; take ownership of existing payment intelligence products and work with the team and product manager to decide what to build next; be accountable for the quality, delivery and operation of everything the team ships; manage people through 1:1s, feedback and career development; shipping projects from MVP experiments to new features; developing talent by hiring and growing engineers; raising the technical bar in design, implementation and operational excellence; delivering project work while managing stakeholder expectations; planning and prioritising technical investment initiatives; reflecting the GC Values

Requirements

Experienced in coding, with Python and Ruby on Rails for backend and JavaScript/React for frontend; commitment to building reliable, well-tested systems; enthusiastic about a strong culture of experimentation, testing and learning; excited about supporting and growing a group of engineers; able to communicate technical topics to technical and non-technical audiences; experience with collaboration and cross-functional work; high agency, not afraid of challenges and willing to take ownership of problems
