Engineering Manager

Responsibilities

Oversee the daily operation and maintenance of all building services systems, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, fire services, lifts / escalators, and building management systems; Ensure stringent and stable temperature and humidity controls are maintained across all exhibition and storage areas to protect sensitive artifacts; Lead, mentor, and manage the in-house engineering and technical teams, source, manage and evaluate the performance of external subcontractors and service providers; Ensure all facilities and operations comply with local statutory requirements, environmental regulations, and occupational health and safety standards, conducting regular risk assessments and safety audits; Prepare and manage annual OPEX and CAPEX budgets, and plan, execute and oversee facility upgrade projects, renovations, and energy-saving initiatives; Develop, implement, and optimize preventive and predictive maintenance programs to minimize downtime and extend asset lifecycles; Act as the lead coordinator for facility-related emergencies, ensuring business continuity and emergency response plans are in place and regularly tested

Requirements

Bachelor's Degree in Building Services Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or related discipline; Minimum 8 years of progressive experience in building services and facilities management, with at least 3 years in a managerial capacity; Strong technical knowledge of large-scale HVAC systems, BMS, and electrical distribution systems; Excellent leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills; Fluent in spoken and written English and Chinese

Nice to have

Member of HKIE or equivalent professional body (e.g. CEng, RPE); Registered Electrical Worker Grade C; Experience in museums, art galleries, data centers or other critical environments with strict climate-control requirements
