Enterprise Internship for High School Students, Macon GA

Advocate Health's 7-week Summer Internship Program offers high school students aged 16+ meaningful work aligned with their interests, valuable experience, connections, and opportunities to attend professional development and social networking events. Departments offering internships include radiology and information technology. The internship is designed to introduce students to careers in healthcare and the day-to-day operations of a hospital or health system. The role is on-site, part time, up to 24 hours per week, Monday-Friday. Internship dates are 6/14/2027-7/30/2027.

Responsibilities

Participate in a structured, hands-on learning experience; Rotate through or support a variety of departments, including clinical, administrative, operational, and support functions; Take part in educational activities, observational experiences, and assigned projects; Develop foundational workplace and professional skills; Work under the guidance and supervision of hospital team members

Requirements

Currently enrolled in high school; Aged 16+ years or older before the start of the internship; Demonstrated interest in exploring healthcare careers; Computer skills; Ability to walk, sit, reach overhead, and lift a minimum of 10 pounds at shoulder height; Ability to push patients in wheelchairs or supplies on a rolling cart; Intact sense of sight and hearing; Work in a safe manner
