Environmental Services Associate I

Join our Environmental Services team and play a vital role in maintaining the health and safety of our patients and staff across Henry Ford Health System locations. Under the supervision of the Environmental Services Management Team, you'll ensure assigned work areas are impeccably clean and well-maintained, manage equipment responsibly, and use supplies efficiently. Your attention to detail and commitment to excellence directly contribute to creating a safe, sanitary environment where healing can happen.

Responsibilities

Prepare patient rooms for new admissions with precision, ensuring all linen and paper supplies are properly stocked and ready for arrival; Operate advanced ultraviolet (UV) disinfection equipment, such as the Xenex Robot, to deliver cutting-edge infection control; Identify and report mechanical issues or environmental concerns promptly, working collaboratively with the maintenance department to keep facilities in top condition; Monitor supply levels proactively and communicate replenishment needs to your supervisor, ensuring seamless operations; Uphold all departmental policies, procedures, quality assurance standards, and infection control protocols to maintain the highest standards of care; Protect patient privacy and confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA regulations, demonstrating integrity in every interaction; Collaborate effectively with colleagues across departments to achieve shared goals and foster a positive, supportive work environment; Invest in your professional growth by participating in educational programs, staying current with industry best practices, and attending in-service meetings and workshops; Support additional departmental needs as assigned, bringing flexibility and commitment to your role

Requirements

High School diploma or G.E.D. equivalent preferred; Custodial experience preferred; Must be able to interact directly with patient population, job requires high visibility; Must exhibit consistently high level of customer service and 'Patients First' sensibility
