Experienced Maintenance Technician

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining equipment and facilities to operate in the safest and most productive condition, supporting continuous improvement, production strategies and plant reliability of snack food equipment and building maintenance.

Responsibilities

Understands and adheres to governmental regulatory programs and policies; practices and complies with all plant and maintenance department safety procedures; understands the concept of Permit Required Confined Spaces; follows all applicable good manufacturing practices; maintains and uses appropriate personal protective equipment; attends classes, seminars, and in-house training as needed; makes improvements and suggestions to optimize maintenance program; executes and documents planned and unplanned work findings via CMMS; repairs and installs parts, tools and equipment; fabricates or modifies machines, tools, or equipment; performs preventative maintenance, inspections, corrective repairs, special projects/equipment rebuilds; executes and resolves equipment breakdowns/repairs; uses root cause analysis, breakdown failure analysis and cause maps to identify and resolve equipment issues; utilizes predictive maintenance technologies; documents causes of failure and works with team to prevent recurrence; interprets technical documents and diagrams; performs maintenance and repair services of facility systems; performs maintenance activities on utility systems; may educate operations team on autonomous maintenance; may perform other duties as required

Requirements

5+ years of manufacturing maintenance; High School Diploma or GED; minimum of 2 years in an industrial manufacturing facility performing mechanical and/or electrical inspections, troubleshooting and repairs; pass plant specific maintenance test; valid driver's license; forklift certified or able to obtain forklift and aerial lift certification; ability to read and interpret technical journals, schematics, blueprints and single line electrical drawings; ability to communicate and interact with all levels of employees; ability to perform simple arithmetic functions and use precision measuring equipment; ability to use a computer for data entry and documentation; attention to detail, mechanical ability and ability to multi-task; ability to make good decisions under pressure

Nice to have

Some college or formal technical school education with demonstrated aptitude and skills in mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and welding techniques; ability to deal with problems involving variables in standardized situations; two years in food manufacturing environment experience; mechanical, electrical certifications/licenses preferred but not necessary
