Extruder Operator 3

Extruder Operator 3 is responsible for safely and effectively contributing to teams of 4-5 individuals supporting the operation of extrusion lamination manufacturing equipment. The role requires a strong work ethic, good communication skills, and the ability to independently prioritize time and duties to help the team run efficiently. Schedule: 12 hour rotating shifts on a 2-2-3 schedule. Location: Rochester, NY.

Responsibilities

Perform duties in a manner that adheres to safety policies and procedures; Participate in the training curriculum, learning new aspects of extrusion line operations while completing assigned duties; Maintain quality standards by reviewing product specifications and ensuring thorough completion of assigned production paperwork; Operate as a member of a larger team responsible for an aspect of the overall process; Exercise cautious approach to heavy equipment, including use of overhead hoists; Complete tasks to ensure the area around the machine is clean to GMP and Food Safety standards; Identify minor imperfections and material defects; Use general tools including tape measurers, utility knives, and screwdrivers; Communicate effectively verbally and in writing, with working knowledge of Microsoft Office

Requirements

High school diploma or general education degree (GED), and one to three years related manufacturing experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience; Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions and short correspondences; Ability to write simple correspondence; Ability to present information in one-on-one and small group situations; Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals; Ability to read/use a tape measurer and apply concepts of basic algebra; Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions; Ability to reach out for assistance when instructions are unclear; Ability to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; Ability to talk or hear; Ability to sit and reach with hands and arms frequently; Ability to stand, walk, climb or balance, and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl occasionally; Manual lifting not to exceed 50 lbs
