Family Solicitor

A leading law firm is seeking a Solicitor to join its Family department, based in Somerset. The role is open to candidates from newly qualified level up to approximately five years’ post-qualification experience.

Responsibilities

Managing a caseload of legal aid matters, under supervision, ensuring cases and transactions are progressed efficiently; Liaising directly with clients to take instructions and providing clear guidance that meets client expectations; Working closely with Partners and senior Lawyers to enhance client relationship skills; Proactively building and strengthening relationships with smaller clients; Scoping and pricing work effectively, with appropriate supervision; Preparing and progressing advocacy matters while negotiating appropriate outcomes for clients; Ensuring compliance with relevant SRA principles and professional conduct rules; Adhering to all risk management policies and procedures; Enhancing personal profile, attracting delegated work, and contributing to departmental business development initiatives; Consistently managing time recording, WIP monitoring and billing across personal and delegated matters; Working towards personal and team KPIs, monitoring performance accordingly; Aligning personal objectives with the strategic goals of the department

Requirements

Qualified Solicitor; Experience in Private Law Children and Domestic Abuse matters; Ability to manage files with minimal supervision; Strong client-handling skills with a commitment to exceptional service delivery; Highly organised with strong prioritisation skills; Newly qualified to approximately five years’ post-qualification experience
