Field Manager

American Greetings has an exciting career opportunity based in the Tempe, AZ area for an experienced candidate with a background in retail or management and a desire to jump into the rewarding and challenging business of the social expressions industry. This is a full-time salaried role. The Field Manager is responsible for ensuring exceptional retail service and execution, while maximizing sales of American Greetings products within a defined geographic area (territory). Territory borders: North: Peoria, AZ; South: Chandler, AZ; East: Highway 87; West: Buckeye, AZ. Work environment includes a retail environment, a home-based office environment, and extensive driving within the territory (up to 70% of the time). Physical demands include standing, walking, sitting, and lifting, pushing and/or moving up to 40 lbs.

Responsibilities

Ensure exceptional retail service and execution while maximizing sales of American Greetings products within a defined territory; Ensure all programs and customer initiatives are implemented in assigned accounts; Serve as the face of the American Greetings brand in the territory and build relationships with account management and store personnel; Hire, onboard, train, develop and manage all associates within the assigned territory (may range from 40-45 direct reports); Lead a team of associates to execute chain and corporate programs and maintain account standards; Review sales performance, forecast in assigned accounts and implement programs to meet goals; Call on accounts within the assigned territory per established call frequencies; Build and maintain relationships with managers, owners and other personnel in assigned accounts; Manage the Merchandiser Service Cycle to maintain account standards and maximize sales volume; Maintain work schedules with merchandisers to ensure displays are set up and maintained to standards; Provide ongoing coaching and performance feedback to associates; Coordinate set-ups for new accounts and revisions; Achieve the annual territory sales forecast, service model goals and key metrics; Manage expense, merchandiser and credit budgets; Perform all other duties as assigned

Requirements

3 or more years experience in a supervisory/managerial role; Bachelor's degree or equivalent years of retail/management experience in lieu of degree; Must have a valid driver's license and meet eligibility requirements to be a company driver; Excellent communication skills both written and verbal; Ability to influence and collaborate, both internally and externally; Computer experience including proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Excel and Word; Ability to use an iPhone and related apps; Excellent organizational skills, time management and ability to multi-task; Attention to detail and timely follow up; Capable of working independently with minimal supervision and managing frequently changing priorities; Energetic, self-motivated and results oriented
