Field Service Technician (Worcester, MA)

Mainspring Energy manufactures and delivers fuel-flexible, low-emissions local power solutions. The Field Service team completes planned and reactive service operations on Mainspring generators, maintaining system uptime, availability, and performance for deployed units at customer sites in a specific region. Training takes place at the Menlo Park, CA headquarters, followed by assignment to a service region requiring travel.

Responsibilities

Mechanically repair and/or perform maintenance on generator components and assemblies per procedures and build checklists to meet customer requirements; Collaborate with engineers to fix, repair, and redesign components and assemblies; Conduct mechanical inspections of deployed units and document condition information for debugging or troubleshooting; Work rotational on-call shifts per the written schedule to support customers; Complete planned and reactive service operations on generators; Maintain system uptime, availability, and performance for deployed units in an assigned service region

Requirements

Minimum of 3 years of experience with mechanical assembly and/or repair; Experience with precision measuring down to .001" using micrometers, bore gauges, gauge blocks, etc.; Familiarity with torque wrenches and documentation of repairs performed; Ability to stand for long periods of time, lift up to 50 lbs., and wear required PPE; Knowledge of how to use and maintain basic tools, such as torque wrenches and torque specifications; Experience following written and verbal work instructions while on-site; Excellent communication skills; Proven track record of working well with others as part of a dynamic team; Ability to learn quickly, self-motivated and safety oriented; Valid Driver's license required

Nice to have

Experience with automotive, aviation, and/or heavy equipment (e.g., HVAC, elevators/lifts, or industrial equipment) assembly; Software knowledge of Google Workspace; Class A Commercial Driver's License
