Responsibilities

Conducting material field testing such as field compaction testing, wet concrete sampling, and concrete and asphalt coring, as part of QC or QA programs.; Assisting in conducting laboratory testing, primarily for soils and aggregate.; Conducting drilling, sampling and factual data reporting for pavement and foundations designs; Assisting laboratory manager in maintaining the laboratory in appropriate working condition.; Maintaining a safe working environment by complying with all safety codes, guidelines, and regulations and indicated by Egis and Safety Officer.; Participating in all assigned Health and Safety training programs.; Attending in technical training programs as required.; Maintaining strong and effective working relationship with Egis’ clients and subcontractors.; Other duties as may be required.

Requirements

Post-secondary education in Construction Engineering & or Civil Engineering Technology. Secondary School Diploma will also be considered based on previous work experience, trade or training,; Previous relevant experience is an asset,; Available to work flexible schedules and travel to site locations for extended periods of time within Ontario,; Able to lift and move samples and equipment weighing up to 50 lbs.; Demonstrated willingness to learn.; Excellent oral and written communication skills,; Strong attention to detail, problem solving skills and ability to think creatively,; Excellent interpersonal skills and an ability to work effectively independently or as part of a team, and; Possess a valid driver’s license and have access to a vehicle with valid registration and insurance.
