Head of Faster & Unified Payables

The Head of Faster and Unified Payables will lead product strategy, commercialization, and business performance for U.S. Bank's Unified Payables offering and its instant payments portfolio. Unified Payables is a joint Treasury and Payment Solutions (TPS) and Corporate Payment Systems (CPS) priority. Its goal is to give middle-market clients one integrated, intelligent experience to manage, control, and optimize their payables from invoice through reconciliation.

Responsibilities

Own the Unified Payables product vision, roadmap, and success measures with CPS product leadership; Define the product construct, minimum viable offering, and target-state capabilities; Manage the full product lifecycle, combining existing TPS and CPS capabilities into one coherent offering; Lead build, buy, and partner analysis and the evaluation of fintech and vendor partners; Own the P&L for Unified Payables and instant payments, including revenue, profitability, pricing, and investment prioritization; Lead product packaging, bundled pricing, and contracting; Partner with Sales to launch and scale cross-sell campaigns; Build supplier acquisition, enablement, and retention strategies; Lead the instant payments portfolio (RTP and FedNow) as a business; Identify, evaluate, and incubate emerging payables capabilities and partnerships; Ensure products operate within U.S. Bank's risk appetite and comply with applicable laws, regulations, and payment network rules; Build fraud prevention, controls, and audit readiness into product design; Lead, coach, and develop a team of product managers; Represent the portfolio in senior leadership forums and steering committees

Requirements

Bachelor's degree, or equivalent work experience; Typically 10 or more years of product management experience

Nice to have

Product leadership experience in accounts payable automation, integrated payables, commercial card, treasury management, or B2B payments; Proven record of bringing new products or bundled solutions to market; Strong knowledge of payment rails (ACH, wires, check, virtual card, RTP, and FedNow) and ERP and accounting system integration; Technical fluency in payments platforms, APIs, and embedded payments; Experience applying AI and automation to accounts payable workflows; Experience leading build, buy, and partner decisions and managing strategic vendor and fintech partnerships; Demonstrated management, leadership, and coaching skills, including leading teams of product managers; Ability to collaborate and influence at a senior level across multiple business lines and functions; Strong financial and competitive analysis skills; Experience applying client research, personas, and experience design to product decisions; Working knowledge of Lean/Agile product delivery; Thorough knowledge of the regulatory, risk, and network rule requirements that apply to payments products; Excellent verbal and written communication and executive presentation skills
