Head of Product, Applied AI

Citizen is the #1 safety app in the U.S., with live video from incidents distributed in real time, a Mission Control floor, and first-responder radio coverage in every market it serves. The company is becoming agentic, with agents drafting, verifying, writing, and routing while people make the judgment calls. The Head of Product, Applied AI leads all of Citizen's product: the consumer app, the subscription business, enterprise products and API, and partner integrations. The role reports to the Founder and does not include hiring product managers; the product management work is carried by an agent team the Head of Product builds and operates.

Responsibilities

Own the product architecture and make Citizen one product again: fewer concepts, clearer paths; Own the core product, including signups, activation, the map, the incident experience, live video, alerts, and retention (Day-1, Day-7, Day-30) and weekly active use, jointly with Design; Own the subscription business roadmap, pricing and packaging, plan mix, trials, upgrade path, and checkout; Own the enterprise, API, and partner product, including what ships, how customers go from signed to live, API packaging and pricing, and partner integrations; Own the metrics and forecasting inputs (conversion, plan mix, retention, enterprise expansion) and explain variance; Own the experimentation program end to end, from hypothesis and guardrails to read and ship decision; Build and operate the agent team that carries the product management work

Requirements

Have replaced a function you used to manage with a system you built, and can show what the agents do without you and what they still cannot; Have led product for a consumer product millions of people use, with a real subscription business, and personally moved pricing, conversion, or retention, with the number and the work to show; Have taken a product that sprawled and made it coherent, and can name what you cut and what shipped faster because of it; Are quantitative to the point of building the model, configuring the test, and reading the result yourself, and know when a result is lying to you; Want this mission and this city, and want to work in the New York office every day next to the Founder
