We are currently recruiting permanent HGV Class 1 Drivers to join our team at Morrisons RDC, Bridgwater . This is an excellent opportunity for professional drivers looking for secure, full-time employment with competitive rates of pay and regular work.

Whether you prefer Days or Nights , we have fixed shift patterns available, offering stability and work-life balance while supporting our busy transport operation.

Available Shift Patterns

Day Shift

- Thursday to Monday
- Flexible start times available

Night Shift

- Friday to Tuesday
- Flexible start times available

Weekend working is included within the shift pattern.

Base Rates

Monday to Friday Days

- £18.05 per hour

Monday to Friday Nights

- £21.66 per hour

Saturday & Sunday Days

- £19.86 per hour

Saturday & Sunday Nights

- £23.47 per hour

Overtime Rates

- £27.08 per hour

- £30.69 per hour

- £28.88 per hour

The Role

As an HGV Class 1 Driver, you'll play a key role in supporting our transport operation, ensuring goods are delivered safely, professionally, and on time.

Responsibilities

General haulage using curtainside trailers to Distribution Centres and Stores; Store collections and returns to Distribution Centres; Completing vehicle safety checks and associated paperwork; Working closely with the transport team to ensure efficient operations; Maintaining high standards of safety, compliance, and customer service; Adhering to Drivers' Hours, WTD, and tachograph legislation; Supporting operational requirements, including occasional loading and unloading where required; Trunking work available subject to operational requirements

Requirements

You should hold a valid C+E Licence and ideally have a minimum of 6 months HGV Class 1 driving experience (We will consider New Pass Drivers); No more than 6 points and no DD/ DR Code convictions.; Hold a current valid DCPC & Tacho cards.; Understand and able to comply with Driver’s hours and WTD legislation.; Able to understand and carry out necessary vehicle checks to ensure vehicle safety and able to report defects correctly.; Should comply with on-site health and safety requirements.; Excellent communication skills.
