Interpreter - School

2026/2027 School Year | PRN On-Call | Conroe, Texas | In-Person. Provide interpretation services for students and families, for school meetings. This role requires strong real-time interpreting skills, collaboration with teachers, staff, and related service providers to support student/family during meetings and conferences. Responsibilities

Provide interpretation services for students and families during school meetings; Collaborate with teachers, SPED staff, and related service providers to support student success and IEP goals; Support communication during meetings, assessments, and other school activities as needed; Maintain confidentiality and adhere to professional standards of interpreting

Requirements

Professional fluency in English; Fluency in at least one of the listed languages (Akan, Farsi/Persian, Gujarati, Himong/Mong, Italian, Khmer/Cambodian, Lao, Marathi, Turkish); Experience providing interpretation in professional, educational, healthcare, or community settings; Ability to pass Simulated Interpretation Exercise; Strong verbal communication skills and ability to interpret accurately in real time; Ability to pass background screening appropriate for school-aged populations; Signed FERPA acknowledgment on file before any placement

Nice to have

Bilingual education degree or linguistics background; National interpreter certification or completion of a recognized interpreter training program; ATA membership or certification; CCHI or CoreCHI certification; NBCMI certification; Experience working in school-based or educational settings; Familiarity with IEP environments and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams; Strong communication, organization, and adaptability
